Principal's Message

Welcome to E.W. Grove Freshman Academy!

I’m honored to welcome you to a new and exciting year at E.W. Grove Freshman Academy—home of the Patriots and the Class of 2029. As principal, I want to personally thank you for the opportunity to work with your child during one of the most important years of their academic journey.

This year marks a big shift, not just for our students, but for our school as a whole. For the first time in many years, Grove is joining the Henry County High School campus. While Grove will continue to operate as a ninth-grade academy, this move brings us physically closer to the full high school experience—opening new doors for connection, continuity, and a stronger sense of unity. We’re excited about what this change means for our students, families, and staff.

Ninth grade is a critical year. It’s where habits are formed, confidence is built, and students begin to understand who they are as learners. Our job is to support them through that transition from middle school to high school—not just academically, but socially and emotionally. Our dedicated teachers and staff are here to guide, challenge, and celebrate your student every step of the way.

We believe in setting high expectations and providing the support needed to meet them. We believe in building relationships, fostering community, and helping each student see their potential. And we believe that when Grove and HCHS work together, we’re building something stronger—not just for today, but for the future.

I encourage you to stay involved, stay informed, and reach out when you have questions. We're in this together, and your partnership means everything.

Thank you for trusting us. Let’s make it a great year.

Go Big Red,

Ryan Muench
Principal, E.W. Grove Freshman Academy
